Ben Ferris, USSA Coach, High School Coach GREAT NORTH ALPINE, Head Coach Holiday Race Team, Race Coach
Ben was introduced to the sport of skiing as a very young child growing up skiing anywhere as his father worked as a ski patrol. In high school he skied on the Traverse City Central Ski Team. He is currently employed by Traverse City Area Public Schools as a foreign language teacher at St. Francis High School. This is Ben’s 20th season with MHSSCA. As with his own children (senior and freshman) it is important that all youth see the value of becoming lifelong learners in the classroom, on the slopes and on the water (sailing rocks too, after all, it is what skiers do in the off season). Make time to enjoy life and be outside. Skiing is a lifelong skill and truly never leaves you. Life is full of choices; make them wisely and execute PASSIONATELY. Live the life you live, love the life you live.
